New measures for the agricultural sector and the fight against illegal labour practices

One of the main innovations introduced by Law No. 101 of July 12, 2024, is the establishment of the Information System for combating illegal labour practices in agriculture. This tool, managed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, aims to facilitate the sharing of information between state administrations and regions, thereby strengthening the fight against undeclared work. Collaboration between various administrations and the integrated use of information will provide a solid foundation for more effective action against illegal labour, promoting greater transparency and legality in the sector. Specifically:

  • Ministry of Labour and Social Policies: will provide data on employment relationships in agricultural enterprises and the agricultural labour market through the Unified Information System for Labour Policies;
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forests: will provide the registry of agricultural enterprises, information on their economic situation, and the crop calendar;
  • Ministry of the Interior: will provide data on residence permits issued for work purposes;
  • INPS (National Institute of Social Security): will share data on wages, contributions, insurance, and inspection results from agricultural enterprises;
  • INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work): will provide data on workplace accidents and occupational diseases in agricultural enterprises;
  • INL (National Labour Inspectorate): will share the results of inspections at agricultural enterprises;
  • ISTAT (Italian National Institute of Statistics): will provide data on active agricultural enterprises;
  • Regions and Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano: will provide data on transportation and accommodation for agricultural workers;
