“Launched by the municipality of Bari the Pit Stop Project for the inclusion of third country citizens”
The Directorate-General for Immigration and Integration Policy has published a request for expressions of interest for the submission of projects dedicated to the inclusion of third-country nationals residing in the most vulnerable urban areas.
This is an action aimed directly at the territories and based on the analysis of the needs expressed by local authorities, for the Metropolitan Cities, the Capital Cities of the Region and the Capital Cities of the Province that have a greater incidence of foreign residents.
The projects currently eligible for funding are 24, carried out by the municipalities of Ancona, Aosta, Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Catania, Campobasso, Catanzaro, Florence, Genoa, Messina, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Parma, Piacenza, Potenza, Prato, Rome, Trento, Turin, Venice.
The objective of the Municipality of Bari is to implement, strategies and interventions, professional/work support and identify structured housing search actions and solutions for the reconciliation of life and work of third-country nationals with greater social vulnerability.
“Pit Stop Project” wants to activate structured actions to find accommodation and reconcile the life and work dedicated to foreigners who stay on a regular basis. The project idea is divided into two lines of intervention. It is called «being at home» the first part of the project dedicated to housing inclusion. It results in housing first, with a budget of 372 thousand euros. The second part is for employment. It is called «Toolkit for my work experience» and consists of actions in support of the beneficiaries so that they can find employment and keep it.
