Agribi introduces the first Italian app aimed at combating labour exploitation in the agricultural sector
Agribi, the bilateral organization for agriculture, has launched an innovative project in Italy: the pioneering app dedicated to agriculture, designed not only to teach basic Italian language skills but also specific terminology concerning employment contracts, rights and responsibilities, labor laws, and safety regulations. This tool represents a valuable resource for migrant workers, equipping them with essential knowledge to comprehend their rights and safeguard their well-being in the workplace.
The project was unveiled at the Prefecture in Verona, with the involvement of sector unions and associations. Developed by Agribi, the training package will deliver tailored courses in the languages spoken in the home countries of the majority of migrant workers: English, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, French, Russian, and Polish.
Already successfully trialed by a group of approximately ten foreign workers in recent weeks, utilizing user-friendly tools such as smartphones, this initiative marks a significant stride forward in empowering migrant workers within the agricultural sector, furnishing them with the requisite tools for enhanced autonomy and workplace safety.
